All about Mrs. Evans

My name is Rochelle Evans and I am thrilled to be a Golden Retriever here at Gold Rush! I believe children learn best when they feel secure, successful, and supported. As a school psychologist, I have made it my job to create a space where ALL students feel comfortable and safe. I work with many students at Gold Rush to help them cope with divorce and loss, learn and implement strategies to handle anxiety, learn to manage anger and behavior, develop and practice positive social skills, and learn to appreciate themselves and others around them.

A Colorado and Parker native, I graduated from Ponderosa High School right here in Parker. I then went to undergraduate school at the University of Northern Colorado and graduated in 1999, with a major in Social Sciences and a license for elementary education with an endorsement in ESL. Right out of college, I began teaching kindergarten. While I loved being in the classroom, I realized that I wanted to continue my education and become a school psychologist. So...I spent my days teaching and my evenings learning! In 2006, I finished my educational specialist degree in School Psychology from CU-Denver. My teaching journey has led me back to Douglas County and I am proud to be employed by the same district I once knew as a learner.

My husband and I are happy to be settled home here in Parker. We have two children, a boy and a girl. My son will be in seventh grade at Cimarron Middle School and my daughter will be a fifth grader right here at Gold Rush!

I believe Gold Rush is such an amazing school and I am so excited to be a staff member and parent here!
